Having rewatched Death Note recently, I really did enjoy the 2nd half a lot more knowing to not look for those two to carry the show in place of L. Still, can't disagree that the show changes a lot between the two arcs and I can't blame people for disliking it.
The Death Note manga was serialized in Shueishaâs Weekly Shonen Jump from December 2003 to May 2006, and was collected into 12 tankobon volumes. The series was licensed for an English- language release by Viz Media, which published the volumes from 2006 to 2007.

While both the manga and anime versions of Death Note follow the same general plot, there are some key differences between them. For one, the manga is much more detailed and nuanced than the anime. L likely has an above-average IQ (around 120-130). However, he has some form of high-functioning autism that allows him to think much differently then the average person. It can be easier to figure out the answer if you think differently from the start because you'll notice things most people won't. Useless_lesbo.
This pretty much coincides with the chapter count where L dies in episode 25 (this was chapter 58 in the manga). Anyone who hasnât read or watched Bakuman should read it. I think itâll shed a lot of light and open your eyes regarding Death Note. This is the scene in Bakuman where they end Reversi conclusively, just as planned."

The Death Note manga has 12 volumes that proceed in a mostly chronological fashion, but thereâs a noticeable time jump around Volume 7, Chapter 60 that shoots forward about four years. The
L's death in the manga feels very sudden (not in a bad way though) while in the anime the foreboding church bells sequence does provide build-up that pays off majorly, though L's comments about how him and Light would soon have to say goodbye, pretty much acknowledging Light was going to kill him, felt pretty out of character for him, and don't
